「便當」英文怎麼講？
「老師，這太簡單了！就是 lunch box.」
可以，可以，不過...
曾經有不少人跟我抗議，lunch 是午餐，如果便當是早餐、晚餐、消夜吃的，講 lunch box 就覺得怪怪的。
難不倒我！敝人今天在德州的超市拍到下面左邊這張圖。
對，便當盒也可以說 bento box, 便當就是 bento [ˈbɛnto]。
bento 來自日文（"bento" 就是「便當」的日文發音！），我小時候沒有人會這樣講, 不過，因為日本的文化慢慢滲透美國文化， 現在你這樣講，美國人比較會聽得懂！ 耶！再也不用早餐、晚餐的時候吃「午餐盒」！
來造些句子吧：
I love the bento box from the Taiwan train station!
The boss of the shop is from Japan, so his bento box is really beautiful.

其實在美國， lunch box 通常代表小孩帶到學校的方形、鐵做盒子（如右圖）， 上面經常有卡通人物的圖。
小時候，我媽會寫很貼心的在我的 lunch box 裡放紙條，上面寫著: “I love you, my cute little boy!” “You’re my sweet little angel!” 等等。 我會小心不讓朋友發現，免得被笑一整天:P
